The views here are certain to make the nature lover’s heart buoyed with glee as this magnificent site, generously peppered with leafy trees, set on a gently sloping campsite. The site rests just outside the wall of the Palace Garden and affords easy access to Bladon Church, located at the corner of the base, where campers can visit the memorable yet modest grave of Winston Churchill. Visit the palace, the birthplace of Churchill, one of England’s most famous leaders, and learn of its rich history as the home, which has been the home of the historic Dukes of Marlborough since the 18th-century. The lively town of Oxford is a must-see, resting a convenient 7 miles from the site, providing campers with a relaxed way to soak in the scenery, history and architecture of this historic university town. Hop on a topped bus to get the best views, or grab a map and head out on foot – the choice is yours. Get a fix of archelogy at Ashmolean Museum, and soak in intriguing exhibits spread out over five floors. Make your way back to base and kick back on your roomy touring pitch as you soak in the colours of the sunset and await the sparkling canopy of stars. Pets most welcome.
