    Llangollen Bridge

    Llangollen Bridge. Foxglove_and_ivy

There’s nothing quite like an event dip in the River Dee to cool off after an eventful day of sightseeing. You can access the water from Llangollen Bridge and walk upstream to find a safe and shallow area for swimming. We advise against swimming near the bridge itself due to the rapid waterflow and canoeists. Seasoned swimmers can dive in Horseshoe Waterfall, and splash in the deep forest plunge pools underneath the waterfall. Alternatively, take an hour's drive to Betwys-y-Coed for the fetching Fairy Glen swimming spot, located approximately an hour away.

Exercise caution and be aware of the varying currents and depths in the River Dee. Only swim in areas where it is safe to do so, and check local guidelines or any posted warnings like weather, water quality or water levels.
