Reaching the area is an adventure itself. There are several approaches, but for most travellers the route involves leaving the A5 and following the route west towards the Welsh hills, and a quirklily named village, Knockin, with a convenience store called the ‘ The Knockin Shop.’ You’ll know you’re close to the Berwyn Mountains, when the place names become increasingly difficult to read. The snaking roads gradually get smaller and less crowded as you enter Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant. You will see signs of the glittering waterfall, lush countryside and imposing peaks peeping through the foliage.
