The Boatyard

Riverside Camping and Caravanning site is a friendly camping and caravanning site enjoying a picturesque position on the side of the banks of the sparkling River Ouse. Fertile countryside envelops the site, providing guests with splendid views to enjoy on lazy days, kicking back at the campsite. An easy 5-minute trot leads into the picturesque village of Bishopthorpe, a popular destination for travellers and racegoers for centuries. Despite the recent, inevitable growth of the settlement, oodles of character remain on the famed old Main Street, with a post office, co-op, cottages and three welcoming pubs. Bishopthorpe is also home to the majestic Archbishop’s palace, easily visible from the banks of the campsite. Riverside Camping has a mix of grass and hardstanding plots with optional electricity for tents and touring vehicles. Facilities are clean and well-maintained, including a toilet block, hot showers, a pot washing area, drinking water points, a laundry room, chemical disposal, gas exchange and disabled-friendly features. There is a roomy children’s play area for the nippers to make friends, burn pent up energy and play ball games in the sun. Anglers can also indulge in the sport of fishing from the banks, should the inclination arise. Well-behaved canines are most welcome to tag along.
