For more history, make your way to the castles in Deal, Walmer, and Dover, a smooth half hours' drive away. Nature lovers are welcome to marvel at the variety of birds and wildlife in the Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve, where cliffs, salt marshes, and seal colonies in winter offer much to uncover. Britain's only desert, the Dungeness National Nature Reserve, is under an hour's drive from the park.
