Swallows Meadow

Swallows Meadow

Located: Campsites in Camelford, Cornwall

Swallows Meadow is a compact, viewsome and peaceful site nestled a mere 10-minute drive from the town of Camelford. The site is owned and run by sculptor Linda, and a quick look around the campsite will cement why this is an ideal place for escapes. Striking views over a shimmering lake look out to Roughtor, a tor in Bodmin Moor, and the enclosing meadows. Stretch out and soak in the soothing scenery, and watch as the butterflies flitter between the colourful wildflowers in the fields around the site as you settle in for a relaxing escape from the hectic pace of the modern world. Linda herself is skilled in animal sculpture, with her preferred medium centring on wildlife, and a site is an excellent place for getting ideas. The surroundings are home to otters, badgers, hedgehogs, buzzards, and a variety of other creatures both and land and up in the air. Cornwall itself is a cracking spot for open-air pursuits, with excellent locations like the South West Coast Path, Camel Trail, and National Cycle Route 3 located within easy reach. Make your way across Bodmin Moor, clip-clop across the countryside on horseback hit off a tee at the 18-hole golf course, or surf in Trebarwith – the choice is yours. End the day gazing up at the shimmering stars from your spacious non-electric grass pitch for tents and tourers. Guests are encouraged to experience slow-cooked meals via the barbeque grill and bring along a cooped-up canine for a holiday.
