Henry the Dub and I went to Wales for a weekend. We toured the waterfall areas in the Brecon Beacons staying for a night in Abergavenny and a second night just outside Brecon.

It was a perfect break, Henry was fun to be with (although it took me a while to get used to his clutch), he was fitted out with basic but efficient cooking equipment, fridge and washing up facilities and a very comfortable bed. Henry prefers to stick to a steady 55mph on motorways etc which actually suited me fine as it meant the usual race to get to get anywhere on a Friday afternoon was replaced with a leisurely drive through some rather lovely countryside - preferable to the inside lane of the M4 being overtaken by lorries.

I’d recommend Henry to individuals or couples wishing to go on an adventure for the weekend, but I’d also suggest that you don’t go too far from his base in Twyford (perhaps a maximum 3 hour drive) - no power assisted steering or modern braking means a lot of concentration goes into driving this beautiful van.

A Waterfall

We recently spent a thoroughly pleasant two weeks touring round France and northern Spain in George. Two previous campervan novices have been converted!

George is comfortable, well equipped and dependable and the cruise control is a real bonus for long stretches and fuel efficiency.

Steve, Georges owner, was very helpful and took the time to explain everything which made a real difference. This gave us the confidence before departing that we knew how stuff worked (which is not always completely intuitive).

Overall, a great experience. Highly recommended.

Linda and Dave hired Hera for a weekend at Hever Castle, Kent to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary and cheer on members of our family who took part in the Castle Triathlon. Hera was wonderful to stay in, well equipped and very comfortable. We had great fun. We have both caught "the Camperbug".

Lowenna was a great van to hire. She has been tastefully restored and features all that is necessary for a happy and authentic VW camping experience. Rosie and Ben (owners) were friendly, helpful and accessible (on end of phone when I couldnt find reverse!). Would definitely recommend and would rent again.

We rented Rye for our wedding day and it was probably one of the best decisions I talked my husband into! Rye made a perfect backdrop for our official wedding photos and really added to the festival-outdoorsy-garden wedding we were after. We used the van as a backdrop for our ceremony and then drove out for some photos in the fields. Ian was great and pretty much up for anything to help the photographer get the shots she needed. Max and Ian were also very helpful when we were sorting out the details. All in all, a beautiful camper which was the perfect finishing touch.Thanks very much!! Stella & Rich x

Many thanks to Amanda and to Fred - our campervan for the weekend. We travelled to Busfest and a jolly good time was had by all including Fred! He was among alot of "friends" some old some not so old and surrounded by like minded people. Loved the van, very comfy and easy to drive and easy to put up the pop top. Just one teeny point to make-could more cutlery be inlcuded? Would definitely recommend this site and Amanda and Fred to others-many thanks!

We had a lovely weekend in Bluebelle. Joop & Karen were lovely & really helpful. We stayed at Kelling Heath; our first visit there. It was great, but I think well go somewhere smaller next time.

Had a fantastic trip for two in this simply beautiful VW Camper, Mr Blue Sky. Peter was flexible about when we could pick up and return the van. It was in great condition and kitted out brilliantly inside with VW themed cooking utensils etc. Sarah gave us a thorough and quick overview of how everything worked before we went on our way. A Perfect hire experience.

Im not one for writing reviews but we have just got back from having hired Tanya & Viorels camper for the week and had a fantastic time.

We wanted a relaxed week on the South Coast away from the crowds and after the busy summer period. It was our first time using Camperbug and also a campervan, so were not sure what to expect.

Viorel met us at his home to go through the hand over of the van and was thorough and made sure all of our questions were answered before handover. The van was fully cleaned and also stocked with all the little bits and pieces needed, which was a great help. Once we had finished with the paper work, we were on our way in no more than 30-40mins. The van performed as well as it looked and toured perfectly without fault for the whole week; we were almost sad to drop it back!

In summary, if you are looking for a lovely, clean and well maintained camper for your break you wont go wrong here. Respect that this van is a valued possession of a lovely family and treat it as such and you will have a great experience.

Not done this before so was a bit of a leap into the unknown. We really enjoyed our four day break with Blue Belle, she took us to Cromer for two nights and Wisbech for one night. Blue Belle was great fun, turned many heads and was surprisingly easy to manage. Guess we were lucky to have very good weather for our four day trip and being able to make full English cooked breakfast was a real treat.
Thank you for the experience which we would love to repeat at some time in the future.

Richard and his brother were absolutely great over the booking and all aspects of the use of the camper for my daughters wedding. Gino looked splendid decorated for the special day and the chauffer looked pretty good too!
We had lots of positive comments about the quirky wedding car!

We rented Kez for the weekend at the beginning of September and took it up to Norfolk. Its great to drive - especially compared to a T4 - and it had everything we needed and much more. Its also in a great location to get out of London quickly.

Charlie was a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. He gave us a thorough guide to Kez and all of the gear on board and didnt laugh too hard at my parallel parking on our return. Highly recommended!

Wow! What a great weekend! From the moment we collected the camper I knew it was going to be a fantastic experience. This was our first time hiring a camper and we cant wait to do it again!
The van owners were amazing and really friendly, the van was in superb condition, obviously extremely well maintained.
If youre looking for a van that drives nicely and is comfortable to stay in...look no further!

The van set up and ready for use!

We had a lovely few days with Baby Blue. From initial enquiry through to dropping the van back, everything was simple.

Baby Blue was comfortable to drive and travel in as well as to sleep. It was well equipped, nicely decorated and well maintained. We had several comments from serious campers how nice the van was.

We had a lovely week away in Cliff the Campervan just before the August bank holiday. There were 2 adults, 2 children (7 and 5 y o) and a dog, and we travelled to The Forest of Dean, then to St Davids (Pembrokeshire) for a few days of camping, beach and surfing, and then north to Abersoch where we spend a couple of nights on a friends driveway! We were given a clear and complete tutorial in how everything worked (and a mobile number to call should we have any questions or forget how to do anything). The campervan was spotlessly clean and everything worked as it should do. There was actually much more space to store everything than I was expecting, as it has been adapted so well. It was well equipped with all the mod-cons ,we made full use of the awning and the pop-up roof, of the camper chairs and table, and the kitchen fridge, cooker and washbasin. There was plenty of electricity charge and water. The owners had thought of everything extra such as tea-towels and washing up liquid etc. We did take a small tent to pitch at the campsite so that we could throw some of the stuff in it while we went off in the van for day trips - I would recommend that! Well definitely be doing this again!

St David's, Pembrokeshire

A beautiful van and great holiday. This was our first in a camper and all went smoothly from collection to drop off. The owners were particularly helpful, with a useful trial drive round under we were use to it. We also had our 8 month old baby with us, and the car seat and sleeping worked fine, surprisingly comfy. We were lucky with good weather so he ate in high chair outside. We would definitely recommend and look forward to another adventure soon!

lorek was all we could ask for in a campervan - excellent to drive, reliable, comfortable,(with touches of luxury), and thanks to the blackout curtains, provided some of the best nights sleep we’d had in ages. Chris, the owner was delightful to deal with, helpful, thoughtful and made the whole process run smoothly - there was initially a lot to take in so his comprehensive list of instructions was very reassuring....

After a gap of 30 years, lorek enabled us to rediscover the joys of itinerant travel -
we had five great nights away, drove to Cornwall, where we enjoyed brilliant sunny days - loved opening the door each day to early morning light, warmth and fresh air, but felt cosy too with the sound of rain on the roof on our one wet night. We watched the sun go down, the moon come up, looked at the stars, camped in a meadow, and entertained friends in the coolest van on a campsite.

It was altogether a fabulous experience - lorek is a meticulous conversion, carried out with an eye for comfort and detail - we are planning more excursions , with a campervan of our own as a future possibility.

We had a wonderful time cruising around with our new friend Rio ! 2 weeks of freedom in the wild and beautiful outer Hebrides (Barra,South&North Uist, South&North Harris and Lewis) and inner Hebrides (Isle of Sky, isle of Mull and Iona). Kids and parents loved all the adventures. The camper van Rio was really sturdy and withstood some strong winds. A special Thanks to the owners who we found to be really helpful and friendly !
